“My experience with LEAD continues to inspire me, and I suspect it will continue to do so for a long time to come. It’s also given me confidence – to consider myself a leader and to argue more strongly for things I believe to be right. And it has greatly broadened my horizons”
Thomas Dodd, European Commission.
The LEAD Europe Leadership for Sustainable Development Programme includes 17 face-to-face training days organised into three residential modules over six months, supported by online events, preparation and project work.
It will inspire you with the latest thinking, sharpen your skills and put you in contact with a group of high-level peers from across Europe and internationally.

While gaining practical experience you will analyse contemporary sustainability challenges and search for joint solutions. You will work with colleagues from different countries and professional backgrounds, each bringing their own diverse perspectives. You will also interact with some outstanding leaders and hear their own stories of challenge and opportunity working in this field.
Modules
As one of the greatest sustainability issues of our time, climate change is a unifying thread running through all three modules of the programme. Associates must attend all three modules and complete a LEAD Associate Project in order graduate as Fellows and join the LEAD Network.
Dates: 14 June – 19 July 2010
Module 1: Complexity, Collaboration and Creating Change
Location: London, United Kingdom Dates: 19-23 July 2010
Module 2: The EU and Leadership: Towards a Sustainable Future
Location: Brussels, Belgium Dates: 6-10 September 2010
Module 3: International Session: Population, Climate Change and Development
Location: Port Elizabeth, South Africa Dates: 31 October – 6 November 2010
LEAD will take you on a learning journey that will allow you to see for yourself how government, business and communities are tackling climate change challenges and opportunities both locally and globally.
Your challenge is to explore and uncover the leadership gaps and to consider how you can become a more effective advocate for change, wherever you live and work. Course participants (known as LEAD Associates) remain in full employment during their training. At the end of the training programme, LEAD Europe Associates become LEAD Europe Fellows for life.
