LEAD Europe training programmes are carefully designed to provide the best possible learning environment for all our participants. We do this using a variety of training methods and activities.
The key dimensions of our leadership development programme are:
- Speakers – Interactive engagement with major sustainable development experts is a key feature of our training events.
- Site Visits - LEAD aims to provide ‘behind the scenes’ access to leadership for sustainable development in action by carefully selecting sites and stakeholders in and around module locations.
- Peer learning – Invaluable opportunities to explore the skills, knowledge and diverse perspectives within the LEAD training group.
- Cafe conversation – An innovative way of hosting conversations that link and build on each other, as people move between groups, cross-pollinate ideas, and discover new insights into the questions or issues that are most important in their life, work, or community.
- Open space – A specific technique to draw out ideas for discussion and facilitate self-selected learning.
- LEAD Associate Projects - As LEAD Associate you will be required to develop and undertake a practical and action-oriented group project with other participants.
- Online networking – The LEAD Europe online platform is a resource to enable communication, networking and sharing of information about the programme in preparation for our face-to-face activities in London, Brussels, and at the International Session.
- Skills development – Development of personal leadership skills such as listening, teamwork, communication and negotiation occurs throughout the programme. These skills are put to the test through practical challenges and personal interactions.
- Group presentations – Team challenges that aim to share information and messages with the group and also test your understanding, communication skills and ability to work across cultures.
- Simulation/case studies – LEAD has researched and written case studies and simulations that have proven to be a powerful instructional tool for training and education for sustainable development.
